Welcome to Kennedy Middle Grade School; home of future Kankakee K’s! Our staff is dedicated to inspiring excellence in all our students by providing each child with the best educational experiences possible. With our diverse population of over 550 students, Kennedy Middle Grade School offers a variety of educational and support programs to meet the varied needs of our students.
Kennedy is proud to serve the 4th through 6th students of the surrounding area, as well as those students in various magnet and special programs. Our diverse programs include Science Magnet, Fine Arts Magnet, Gifted Program and Dual-Language/Bilingual Program for our Spanish-speaking students. Our College and Career Academy classes focus on specific areas of college and career strands, which exposes students to possible paths after graduating from high school.
Co-teaching has been fully implemented, providing the “Least Restrictive Environment” for our students with special needs. We believe in proactively handling situations, by utilizing a positive behavior incentive program, and pride ourselves on a positive school climate.
Each staff member, from the teachers, to support staff, paraprofessionals, office staff, kitchen workers, and custodians have adopted professional goals; ones created to improve student success; academically, socially, and physically. Rigorous curriculum, combined with on-going data analysis will provide the guidance to improve instruction, which will benefit students’ learning and achievement.
We believe that a strong home to school partnership is necessary. Therefore, we invite our parents and families to become actively engaged in the learning environment at Kennedy Middle Grade School and commit to extending their child’s learning at home.
I am proud to be the principal at Kennedy Middle Grade School, where we are preparing our students for exciting futures!
