Selecting a program for your child is an exciting process. District 111 offers many excellent parent choice options. Kankakee School District 111 Magnet Program, initiated in 1979, is one of the oldest programs of choice in the country. Magnet programs have a theme-based learning environment.  This theme is woven into how classes are taught and expressed. 

All District 111 elementary schools offer a rigorous curriculum in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.  Each choice option weaves themes into the existing curriculum. Our schools provide a variety of teaching approaches and curriculum offerings that help to customize a student’s educational program.
